NEW BRITAIN - The fourth annual New Britain Rose Garden Festival is a little less than a month away.

The New Britain Parks and Recreation Department announced last week that the event at the Walnut Hill Rose Garden in Walnut Hill Park will be held from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, June 17.

The community event offers an evening of dining, drinking and dancing in the garden in the park. In addition to live musical performances from Avenue Groove and Soul Sound Revue, local restaurants will serve food and beer, wine and spirits will be available for purchase.

“The Rose Garden Festival is a great opportunity to spend a unique summer evening in one of our city’s most picturesque settings. Amid the Rose Garden, there will be music, dancing, drinks, and food from a variety of local restaurants to enjoy in the company of friends. I look forward to June 17 at Walnut Hill Park,” said Mayor Erin Stewart.

Local restaurants committed to the event so far include Great Taste, Back Nine Tavern, Max Pizza II, Staropolska and MofonGO.

Scott’s Flowers will be donating roses to give away to the first 250 women in attendance.

Admission to the event is $7 per person in advance or $10 the day of the event.

The Rose Garden Festival is for people 21 years or older. Food and beverages will be sold separately.

Tickets are available for purchase at the Parks and Recreation Department and Greater New Britain Chamber of Commerce or by calling the Parks and Recreation Department.

Any additional questions can be answered by calling the Parks and Recreation Department hotline at 860-826-3360.
