Walnut Hill Park concert series returns this week

NEW BRITAIN -Monday and Wednesday nights are about to get more exciting when free summer concerts return to Walnut Hill Park on Monday, July 3, with the Navy Band.

The concerts will run from 7 to 9 p.m. through Aug. 30.

The series is presented by the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department and Mayor Erin Stewart.

Guests should bring blankets or chairs for seating.

The schedule is:

July 5: Red Hot Horns.

July 10: Last Licks.

July 12: Pocket Full of Soul.

July 17: Karen Thompson Band.

July 19: Tirebiter.

July 24: 102nd Army Band.

July 26: Shaded Soul.

July 31: Tim Maia Experience.

Aug. 2: Terrapin.

Aug.7: Fountainhead.

Aug. 9: Dick Santi Orchestra.

Aug. 14: Simply Swing.

Aug. 16: Governor’s Foot Guard.

Aug. 21: Coyote River Band.

Aug. 23: Locomotion.

Aug. 28: Mass Conn Fusion.

Aug. 30: Soul Sensations.
