NEWINGTON-A night of networking, classic cars, food and fun, featuring members of six area chambers of commerce, is set for tonight at Turnpike Motors Autobody, 2550 Berlin Turnpike.

The Summer Multi-Chamber Party and Car Show is open to the public and runs from 5 to 8 p.m.

Marty Smith of Turnpike Motors said the event started about a decade. Due to its location, the business is a member of six Chambers of Commerce - Rocky Hill, Newington, New Britain, Connecticut River Valley, Avon and Wethersfield - so the chambers wanted to put on one event specifically for networking and promoting commerce.

Catered food from New York Pickle Deli and Stew Leonard’s, music from the Ian Biggs Band, raffle prizes, an ice cream truck and a beer and wine garden will be available, and exotic cars will be on display.

David Fisch, from the WMRQ (Radio 104.1) "Fisch in the Morning" show, will be on location, broadcasting live.

The event supports Dream Ride, scheduled for Aug. 25-27 at the Farmington Polo Club, which supports the Special Olympics.
