Pageants for petites tonight at Trinity-on-Main

NEW BRITAIN - The Petite America and Petite World pageants will be held this evening from 6 to 10.

All contestants must be no taller than 5 feet, 6 inches, and at least 13 years old. The oldest contestant this year is 70. Nations represented include Canada and Guatemala.

Contestant orientation took place Aug. 3, with a photo shoot and pajama party at the Hartford Mariott in Farmington.

On Friday, guests were welcomed to the state Capitol and the New Britain City Hall for tours. Then it was Petite America and Petite World Queens Night at a New Britain Bees game.

The pageant will be held at the Trinity-on-Main Theater at 69 Main St.

Tickets will be available at the door. Tickets for adults are $20, children’s tickets are $10, which 5 and under admitted free. Trinity on Main will serve its own concessions.
