NEW BRITAIN - Members of the Polish Society of Artists will hold an opening reception on Sept. 9 at the Sloper-Wesoly House.

Ten times throughout the year, artists of Polish heritage present their work to the public.

Zofia Soto, spokeswoman for the Polish Society of Artists, said that, in the spring, the group’s 14 members present one large art exhibit and then hold smaller exhibitions of two or three artists for the other months.

The exhibit will only be shown to the public on Sept. 9 from 6-9 p.m. at the opening reception, and on Sept. 15 from 5-7 p.m.

Artists featured will include be Marek Barczyk, Jerzy Michalski, Jeffrey Anziano and a special guest from the Art League of New Britain, Shin Wakabayashi.

Rather than having a specific theme, the artists will show work reflective of their backgrounds through paintings and photography.

The event is free to attend, but donations will be accepted. Sloper-Wesoly House is located at 27 Grove Hill. Light refreshments will be served.
