NEW BRITAIN - Barkel McClane Photography Studio will have an opening reception and ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, Sept. 15.

The studio at 66 W. Main St. is owned and operated by local photographer Barbara McClane.

The public is invited for light music, refreshments, a raffle and networking.

McClane became interested in photography in her youth, after her parents bought a Polaroid camera.

Her fascination with photography grew as she got older.

“Today my photography has grown into a passion that connects, creates and captures memories for people worldwide,” McClane said.

She says what we feel is what we see.

“When the perfect photo is captured, the energy is felt through the viewfinder - connecting me with the subject. I believe our eyes are the window to our soul,” McClane said.

To view McClane’s work, look for her on Instagram @Barkel_Photography or on Facebook at BarKelPhotography.
