Durham rapper to host New Britain Open Mic Night

NEW BRITAIN - Open Mic Night returns this Thursday at the Artists’ Co-op with host Joanna Perricone.

Perricone is a hip-hop artist from Durham. In 2013 she released her first mixtape, “Who Is This Girl?” The following year she released an EP, “The Wave Series,” and in 2015 an album, “Without Further Ado.”

Her second EP, “Growing Pains” is due later this fall.

Perricone performs all over Connecticut, including in her own car for her monthly video series “Car Bars.”

She is affiliated with the Hartford-based independent label, Connecticut People Records.

The open mic will run from 6-9 p.m. and is free to attend and perform.

James A. Johnson, from J3 Promotions, will keep the beats flowing throughout.

Performers and spectators of all ages, including instrumentalists, singers, dancers, storytellers, poets and others, are all welcome.
