Local doo-wop group to open for Jay Siegal's Tokens

NEW BRITAIN-The Crown Imperials will open for Jay Siegel’s Tokens on Saturday, Nov. 18.

As an a cappella doo-wop group, The Crown Imperials first performed together in the 1950s as students at New Britain High School and reunited in 2009 after 45 years apart. They have been performing steadily since wherever the opportunity arises.

Members of the group are Jerry Veronesi, Peter Caramia, Milton Riley, Dom Perillo, Floyd Campbell and Ron Criscitello.

They will be performing at Bridge Street Live in the Collinsville section of Canton on Saturday to open for Jay Siegal’s Tokens, known for “The Lion Sleeps Tonight,” which was featured in Disney’s “The Lion King,” “Tonight I Fell in Love,” “Portrait of my Love” and “I Hear Trumpets Blow.” Jay Siegal’s Tokens is scheduled to perform at 8 p.m.

Tickets are $40 general admission or $55 VIP.
