BERLIN - The Connecticut Cabaret Theatre will host stand-up comedian Linda Belt on Thursday, Feb. 22.
Belt is a New Jersey native, but has been living in Connecticut since 1987.
When she first moved to the state, she recalled, she became a “suburban pillar of the community” by attending PTO meetings and baseball games. She became tired of that lifestyle and decided to become a stand-up comic instead.
Her humor touches on the absurdities of modern life and explores subjects such as marriage, sex and parenting.
Belt has performed throughout the United States and Canada and has been featured at a number of comedy festivals including the Hogtown Comedy Festival (Toronto), Detroit Comedy Festival, Long Island Comedy Festival, Women in Comedy Festival (Boston), Laugh Your Asheville Off (Asheville, N.C,), and Boston Comedy Festival.
Doors open at 7:15 p.m., show time is 8 p.m.
The cabaret-style show is not suitable for children.
Patrons are welcome to bring whatever they like to eat or drink. They also can buy treats at the theater’s dessert bar.
Tickets cost $22. Visit ctcabaret.com or call 860-829-1248 for tickets.
