Six women to be honored at Queen Nzinga Center concert

NEW BRITAIN - The Queen Ann Nzinga Center will honor six women at the 2018 Exceptional Women Concert at Trinity-on-Main on Saturday, March 24.

Mayor Erin Stewart, Valeriana DeBrito, Pamela Floyd-Cranford, Pamela L. Kristoff, Eileen McNulty and Tracy Nixon Moore will be recognized for their achievements.

The purpose of the event is to commemorate Women’s History Month and pay tribute to Constance “Connie” Collins, an African-American woman who was deeply involved in Greater New Britain.

There will be performances by Betty Harris, Nzinga’s Daughters, QANC Watoto Youth Program and more.

The concert starts at 4 p.m. at the entertainment venue at 69 Main St. Tickets are $20 general admission and $15 for seniors and students.
