NEW BRITAIN - Wednesday marks the second night of the Walnut Hill Jazz Series at the New Britain Museum of American Art.
The NBMAA and Hartford Jazz Society have formed a partnership to bring four Wednesday night performances by regional jazz artists to the Hardware City this year.
The New York-based Manuel Valera Trio will be taking the stage on Wednesday night.
Born and raised in Havana, Cuba, Valera moved to New York City in 2000.
Since then, he has received national attention and gained popularity in New York’s modern jazz scene.
Additionally, Valera has been recognized with Chamber Music America’s New Jazz Works grant and the ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) Young Jazz Composer Award.
The show begins at 6:30 p.m.; doors and a cash bar will open at 5:45 p.m. Seating is limited and tickets must be purchased in advance online, as none will be sold at the door.
Admission is $10 for museum and Hartford Jazz Society members and $15 for non-members.
