NEW BRITAIN - A graduate student from Central Connecticut State University hopes to educate residents this week about the history of urban renewal in the city.

At 6 p.m. Wednesday, Anthony J. Vinci will hold a gallery reception featuring images and documents related to the impact of urban renewal on the Hardware City.

Vinci, who is majoring in public history, will graduate from CCSU later this spring.

He hopes his presentation can be a walk back in time. Vinci’s research aims to document and show how urban renewal policy transformed the city, specifically from 1956 to 1972.

For further information, contact Vinci at anthony.vinci@my.ccsu.edu or exhibit designer and curator Adrian Elliott at 860-881-7801 or adrian8669@gmail.com.

The reception will be held at Gallery 66, 66 W. Main St.
