NEW BRITAIN - A new live performance venue and recording studio is coming to the city, and the grand opening is this weekend.

DMTSRadio Live, which also operates and programs an internet radio station, is hosting the grand opening of the venue at 1 p.m. Saturday at 105B W. Main St.

Deivone M. Tanksley Sr., owner of DMTSRadio Live, said the storefront location will be a place for entertainment, concerts, independent music and more.

“Please join us this coming Saturday as we cut the ribbon and remove the dark curtains that have been covering the windows,” Tanksley said in a press release announcing the event. “As hundreds of people from the community gather together - including professional entertainers, musicians and sponsors - come be a part of what will go down in history.”

Tanksley said one of the goals of the new independent live venue is to showcase the talent Connecticut has.

“The uniqueness of DMTSRadio Live is the fact that we are here for the true art of entertainment and a platform for independent music artists, bands and more,” Tanksley said. “Our music uplifts the culture and does not disrespect our women, promote violence or misguide the youth.”

The radio station has already attracted sponsors and partnerships including Mofongo, BodyROC, In The Cut Barber Lounge, Atlantic Restoration and the New Britain Bees.
