Juried art show in New Britain accepting submissions

NEW BRITAIN - The Hospital for Special Care is looking for artwork submissions to participate in its 16th Annual Juried Art Show.

The juried show is done through the “Joy of Art!” program. Artists interested in the show can submit two pieces of art on June 20 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. or on June 24 from 1 to 6 p.m.

Submissions may be dropped off at the Hospital for Special Care’s Aquatic entrance at 2150 Corbin Ave.

The Hospital for Special Care’s 16th Annual Juried Art Show will begin with an opening reception on June 27 and will run until October.

Submissions must be 42 inches or smaller including a frame and they must wired and ready to hang. An entry fee of $30 for one submission and $45 for two submissions will be charged to participants.

Prizes and honorable mentions will be awarded to the selected artists. Maura O’Shea will be the artist judging the submitted works.

Part of the “Joy of Art!” program goal is to improve the life quality of patients by offering a variety of art for their enjoyment.

Submissions for the juried show must be turned in with completed forms that can be found at hfsc.org/patients-families/joy-of-art.
