BERLIN - Construction is finally over at BHS, and students and staff have started to personalize the building.
Four large paintings and a clay mosaic, created by five Advanced Placement studio art students at the end of the last school year, were installed in the cafeteria over the summer.
The paintings are 48 by 72 inches and are inspired by the Renaissance work of Giuseppe Arcimboldo, best known for portraits made of produce, flowers, twigs and similar materials.
Among his works were depictions of the seasons, which were the inspiration for students Gabriel Dombrowski, Donald Roski, Noah Neault and Annalise Gormley’s work.
The Berlin Redcoat mascot mosaic was designed and built by student Hannah Schulz and also follows the theme of fresh produce.
