Sock Hop to benefit children's charity

BERLIN - Bethany Covenant Church, 785 Mill St., is hosting their fourth annual 1950’s style Sock Hop and dinner Saturday, Oct. 21 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. to raise money for the Feed My Starving Children Central CT mobile packing event scheduled for 2018.

The event will offer hamburgers, hot dogs, French fries, root beer floats and milkshakes.

Admission is $20 for adults, children under 10 years old are free and has a maximum cap of $50 per family. Tables, which seat 8, can be reserved for $140 – so invite friends.

Feed My Starving Children FMSC, a non-profit organization based in Minnesota, is ranked in the top one percent of the most trusted charities. FMSC is dedicated to combating the problem of chronic malnutrition and starvation which affects millions of children worldwide by providing scientifically formulated, nutrition-packed meals.

For the past several years, the Central CT Mobile Pack community has packed these nutritional meals, and in November 2016 packed their 1,000,000th meal. The Central CT Mobile Pack are now raising funds necessary to purchase the raw materials for their next packing event by sponsoring events such as the Sock Hop.
