BERLIN - A local resident is hoping to keep people warm this winter with his handmade scarves.

Kevin Maule has been loom knitting for almost six years and crafting for more than 30. He’s sold his products at the Berlin Fair and flea markets, but has been hoping to expand online sales.

Maule has created scarves in the colors of area high schools, including New Britain and Berlin.

“I’ve been a big fan of the rivalry game between New Britain High School and Berlin High School,” Maule said, displaying his red and blue scarf for Berlin’s Redcoats and maroon and gold scarf for New Britain’s Hurricanes. “With it being so cold out, I thought these would be perfect even as Christmas presents.”

Maule’s scarves cost $20 each and can be found on his Facebook page, www.facebook.com/Winter-Scarves-8848603 88226942/. Orders can be placed by sending Maule a message on Facebook or by calling or texting 860-874-6689.
