Forum on opiod abuse planned at Berlin library

BERLIN - State Rep. Cathy Abercrombie (D-Meriden) will host a public forum on the opioid epidemic today at the Berlin-Peck Memorial Library from 1 to 3 p.m.

The library is located at 234 Kensington Road.

Miriam Delphin-Rittmon, head of the state Department of Mental Health and Addiction services, will speak, along with members of Hartford Healthcare Behavioral Health, Berlin’s EMS provider and the Central Connecticut Health District. The CCHD serves Berlin, Newington, Rocky Hill and Wethersfield.

Parents and family members of people who have dealt with opioid addiction will also be present.

Attendees will be able to ask questions as part of the program.
