The American Red Cross is urging healthy local residents to make an appointment to donate blood.
About 600 blood drives have been canceled this winter due to bad weather, the Red Cross said.
To help replenish the blood supply and ensure that patients continue to receive life-saving treatments, the Red Cross has scheduled several blood drives, including:
Feb. 20: 1:30-6:30 p.m., Berlin Congregational Church, 878 Worthington Ridge
Feb. 21: 1-6 p.m., Hospital of Central Connecticut, 100 Grand St.
Feb. 27: 8 a.m-1 p.m., Hartford Hospital Newington Campus, 181 Patricia M. Genova Drive
Feb. 28: 1-6 p.m., American Legion Hall, 66 Main St.
