BERLIN - The Empty Bowls dinner at Berlin High School has been rescheduled to Tuesday, March 20.
The event, originally set for tonight, will still take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the BHS cafeteria and tickets will be sold at the door.
The event, part of a national campaign designed to raise awareness of the fight against hunger, is organized by the BHS Art Department.
It works by giving attendees who buy a ticket a handmade bowl they can take home as a reminder that not everyone in the community has enough food for a meal.
Dinner will include pasta, soup, meatballs, bread, salad and desserts, with donations from local restaurants including Bertucci’s, Portofino’s and J. Timothy’s Taverne, said DeSorbo.
Raffle prizes include a $50 gift card to Jerry’s Artarama, and $25 gift certificates to East Tokyo, Central Pizza and Great Taste.
Tickets are $10 for student and $15 for adults.
Money raised will go to the Berlin Food Pantry and the New Britain Food and Resource Center.
