BERLIN - A local Realtor has hopped into action to help two local agencies at Eastertime.
CT Realty Pros recently collected several items to make 39 Easter baskets for the Prudence Crandall Center. It also gathered gifts for clients of Klingberg Family Centers.
“I was shocked,” said Owner Tracy McCleary of the number of items collected. “I was completely overwhelmed, I had to leave the room when they were (making) the baskets.”
Several items came through donations from Faith in Angels, a Berlin-based spiritual healing center, and from Raising Berlin, a local organization of mothers striving to teach young people how to be involved with the community, McCleary said.
The other donated items - contributing to 200 packages of chalk, bubbles, coloring books, notebooks, footballs and personal items including shampoo and deodorant - were collected as part of “pop-up” shopping events that CT Realty Pros regularly hosts.
“Other (vendors) come in and sell stuff and then we donate based on sales,” said McCleary,
“We do a lot of stuff like that,” McCleary added. The agency will also be renting a space at the Berlin Farmers Market and allow local organizations to use it to promote themselves.
“There’s a lot of organizations that want to help, but aren’t able to,” said Bob Canto, McCleary’s business partner. That’s where CT Realty Pros comes in, he said.
The most recent pop-up event was on March 18 and featured LuLaRoe clothing, Essential Oils and One Hope wine, which raises money for veterans. Pizza was donated by The Avenue restaurant.
“We do this stuff whenever we can,” said McCleary. “The more you share, the better everyone’s lives can be.”
