Red Cross needs blood after rough late winter

FARMINGTON - Though spring has arrived, the American Red Cross reports that its blood supply is still recovering from severe winter storms.

Donors of all blood types are urged to roll up a sleeve and help save lives.

Several area blood donation events are scheduled:


April 14: 9 a.m.-2 p.m., South Kensington Volunteer Fire Department, 1950 Chamberlain Highway.


April 9: 1-6 p.m., United Methodist Church, 56 Redstone Hill.


April 4: 1-6 p.m., Falcon Club, 33 Knowles Ave.

April 7: 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Grace United Methodist Church, 121 Pleasant St.

April 10: 1:15 p.m.-6:15 p.m., Central Christian Academy, 1505 West St.


April 5: 1-6 p.m., St. Joseph’s Church, 33 Queen St.

April 10: 1-6 p.m., Bethel Christian Church, 750 Stevens St.
