BERLIN - U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy recently announced that Precision Punch & Tooling Corporation has been selected as his “Murphy’s Monday Manufacturer.”

Located at 304 Christian Lane, Precision Punch & Tooling Corporation specializes in injection molding tooling in addition to custom tools, punches, dies and parts for the aviation, automotive, dental and medical industries.

Precision Punch & Tooling Corporation was founded in 1965 by Robert Peterson Sr. The company has focused on growing not only its product line but also its workforce. Precision Punch & Tooling Corporation acquired Eastern Industries in 2016 and renamed it Eastern Gage. Through the acquisition, both businesses grew, adding advanced systems and processes as well as expanding its product offerings.

Precision Punch operates from a 44,000-square-foot facility in Berlin and it serves as an employer to 70 people during two work shifts.

This manufacturer has experienced an annual growth of eight to 10 percent, enabling its team to be trained in lean manufacturing and the methodologies of Six Sigma, a data-driven approach that eliminates defects on products.

“Connecticut’s resurging manufacturing sector continues be successful because of companies like Precision Punch & Tooling,” Murphy said. “The tooling industry is critical to designing and producing the tools necessary to finish products.”

In addition to its collaborations to the manufacturing industry, Precision Punch & Tooling Corporation is often involved in the community as it works with Berlin’s Little League teams and local churches.

“Connecticut has a rich history of innovation and manufacturing and this continues to be essential for the future of all of us that call Connecticut home,” Kevin Gregoire, president of Precision Punch & Tooling Corporation, said. “The best part of my responsibilities is mentoring the development of our employees and providing the opportunity for them to care for their families.”
