BERLIN - A pickup truck crashed into a bridge on Farmington Avenue Tuesday morning, with the driver sent to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The accident happened around 11:15 a.m., Fire Administrator Jim Simons said. The truck had to be towed away from the scene, Simons added.

It was not immediately clear how the accident happened and police are investigating, Simons said.

The bridge did not appear to sustain any structural damage, but inspectors were called in, Simons said.

The bridge carries railroad traffic over Farmington Avenue.
