BERLIN - No injuries were reported in a fire at 288 Kensington Road early Friday evening.

All four volunteer fire companies were dispatched to the scene at 6:36 p.m., according to the Berlin Volunteer Fire Department Facebook page.

Upon arrival, crews found the blaze on the right exterior side of the building already extinguished after it had burned through most the vinyl siding in the area, Kensington Fire Chief Jeff Pajor said.

Crews then entered the home, and removed the burnt siding and insulation, the Facebook post said. Crews determined the fire did not spread anywhere and no hot spots remained.

Fans were setup to help ventilate smoke from the second floor of the home, Pajor said. The family of two was not displaced because of the damage being contained to the exterior.

The fire started next to a bush and then spread to the side of the house, Pajor said. The fire marshal’s office investigating the cause, Pajor added.
