New Britain up to 40 confirmed cases among residents since Friday, state coronavirus hospitalizations up again

New Britain had another 16 residents confirmed as having tested positive for coronavirus Tuesday and has had 40 since the beginning of the weekend, according to state health officials. The city is now up to 1,673 confirmed and 63 probable cases of the virus in all.

Bristol had another dozen residents confirmed as having tested positive for the virus Tuesday and 30 since Friday. Bristol also had an increase of two in probable cases. The city has now had 779 confirmed and 20 probable cases overall.

Newington had an additional three residents confirmed as having tested positive for covid-19. The town has had 482 confirmed and 22 probable cases since reporting began.

Southington had a pair of residents confirmed as having tested positive for the virus for totals that stand at 419 confirmed and 18 probable cases.

Berlin had two residents confirmed and two more considered probable of testing positive for the coronavirus Tuesday. The town is up to 217 confirmed and 13 probable cases.

Plainville had four more residents confirmed as having tested positive for the virus. The town has had 209 confirmed and three probable cases overall.

Plymouth had no changes Tuesday, remaining at 85 confirmed and five probable cases.

Statewide there were 13,398 tests reported Tuesday with 320 coming back as positive cases. There was an additional one coronavirus-associated death in the state for a total of 4,533. There were another 17 patients hospitalized with covid-19 in the state for a total of 172.
