New Britain moves within five of reaching 1,700 residents confirmed as testing positive for covid-19, Southington, Plainville up as well

Bristol moved within three of reaching 800 residents confirmed as having tested positive for coronavirus. The city had an additional 16 residents added to that total Friday, according to state health officials, for totals that now stand at 797 confirmed and 21 probable cases.

New Britain moved within five of reaching 1,700 residents who have been confirmed as testing positive for coronavirus. After another 15 residents were confirmed and another three considered probable for having the virus Friday, the city is up to 1,695 confirmed and 67 probable cases overall.

Southington had nine additional residents confirmed as having tested positive for covid-19 Friday. The town is up to 432 confirmed and 18 probable cases.

Plainville had seven residents confirmed as having tested positive for coronavirus. The town is up to 216 confirmed and three probable cases in all.

Berlin had five more residents confirmed as having tested positive for the virus, for totals that now stand at 223 confirmed and 12 probable cases.

Newington had an increase of four in residents who have been confirmed as having tested positive for the virus and an additional one added to the probable total. The town is now up to 488 confirmed and 23 probable cases in all.

Plymouth had no changes, remaining at 85 confirmed and five probable cases overall.

Statewide there were 33,048 tests reported with 802 coming back as positive cases. There were two additional coronavirus-associated deaths to report Friday for a total of 4,542. There was a decrease of seven in patients hospitalized with coronavirus for a total of 184.
