New Britain now over 80 new coronavirus cases since Friday, plus Newington, Berlin, Plainville, Southington updates

The state continues to see rising case numbers and hospitalizations due to covid-19.

Connecticut had 14,305 tests reported Wednesday with 490 coming back as positive cases. The state also had nine coronavirus-associated deaths and another 17 patients newly hospitalized with the virus. Overall, the state has had 4,604 virus-associated deaths and currently has 309 patients hospitalized due to coronavirus.

On Sept. 29 there was 91 patients hospitalized with coronavirus.

New Britain had another 16 residents confirmed as having tested positive for coronavirus Wednesday and has had 84 new cases since Friday. The city has now had 1,864 confirmed and 80 probable cases in all.

Bristol went over 900 in residents confirmed as having tested positive for coronavirus Wednesday after another eight were added to that category. The city has had 46 confirmed cases since Friday. The city has had 901 confirmed and 23 probable cases overall.

Newington had nine additional residents confirmed as having tested positive for the virus over the past 24 hours. The town has had 541 confirmed and 24 probable cases since reporting began.

Southington had four more residents confirmed as having tested positive for the virus Wednesday, bringing its totals to 479 confirmed and 17 probable cases.

Berlin had a pair of residents confirmed as having tested positive for coronavirus. The town has had 254 confirmed and 17 probable cases overall.

Plainville and Plymouth had no changes Wednesday.

Plainville remains at 241 confirmed and four probable cases, while Plymouth stays at 99 confirmed and five probable cases.
