Berlin and Southington have coronavirus-associated deaths; New Britain has another 116 positive cases

Berlin and Southington both had one resident die from coronavirus-associated illness Tuesday, according to state health officials. Statewide there were 31 virus-associated deaths reported over the past day and has now reached 6,449 deaths overall.

New Britain has had 154 virus-associated deaths among residents, while Bristol has had 117, Newington 89, Southington 62, Plainville 29, Berlin 26 and Plymouth five.

New Britain has another 116 residents that tested positive for coronavirus Tuesday and 333 since the weekend. The city is now up to 6,589 positive cases in all.

Bristol had an additional 67 residents that tested positive for the virus Tuesday and 222 since the weekend. The city has reached 3,632 positive cases.

Southington had 55 more residents that tested positive for the coronavirus for a total of 2,254.

Newington had 25 additional residents that tested positive for the virus for a total of 1,828.

Berlin went over 1,000 in residents testing positive for coronavirus, reaching 1,010 after 28 more positive tests were added Tuesday.

Plainville had 16 additional residents that tested positive for the virus for a total of 973.

Plymouth had 10 more residents that tested positive for the virus Tuesday for a total of 567.

Statewide, there were 34,422 tests reported with 3,689 coming back as positive cases, a 6.33% positivity rate. There were 12 additional state residents hospitalized due to covid-19 for a total of 1,154.
