Southington has three, New Britain two, Newington one virus-associated deaths among residents

Southington had three residents die from coronavirus-associated illness, while New Britain had two and Newington one over the past two days, according to state health officials. There were 41 virus-associated deaths statewide over the past day for a total of 6,594.

New Britain has had 158 virus-associated deaths among residents, while Bristol has had 117, Newington 90, Southington 65, Plainville 30, Berlin 26 and Plymouth five.

New Britain has had 64 additional coronavirus cases among residents over the past two days for a total of 6,751.

Bristol had 50 residents that tested positive for coronavirus over the past two days for a total of 3,728.

Southington had 24 additional residents that tested positive for the virus over the past two days for a total of 2,327.

Newington added 22 residents to its total of 1,866 of positive virus cases since Wednesday.

Berlin had 18 residents that tested positive for the virus over the past two days for a total of 1,050.

Plainville had five more residents that tested positive for the virus over the past two days for a total of 992.

Plymouth had three residents tests positive for the virus since Wednesday for a total of 577.

Statewide, there were 30,303 tests reported with 1,878 coming back as positive cases, a 6.2% positivity rate. There was a drop of 20 in residents hospitalized due to covid-19 for a total of 1,098.
