Southington had a resident die from coronavirus-associated illness while New Britain went over 8,200 total coronavirus cases since reporting began, according to state health officials Monday. There were 39 deaths statewide over the weekend for a total that has reached 7,562.
New Britain has had 184 virus-associated deaths among residents, while Bristol has had 124, Newington 101, Southington 87, Plainville 36, Berlin 29 and Plymouth 7 since reporting began.
There were 86,401 coronavirus cases reported over the weekend with 2,233 coming back as positive cases, a positivity rate of 2.58%. There was a decrease in residents hospitalized with coronavirus, dropping by 35 to 500.
New Britain had 43 new positive coronavirus cases among residents since Friday for a total of 8,209.
Bristol had 26 new coronavirus cases among residents for a total of 4,665.
Southington added 27 new coronavirus cases for a total of 2,906.
Newington went over 2,300 cases Monday after another 17 residents tested positive for the virus for a total of 2,302.
After adding nine new coronavirus cases over the weekend Berlin went over 1,300 cases (1,301).
Plainville added 13 new coronavirus cases for a total of 1,274.
Plymouth had four more residents that tested positive for the virus over the weekend bringing its total to 710.
