New Britain has nearly 30 new coronavirus cases; Southington, Newington, Berlin, Plainville updates

There were 10 virus-associated deaths statewide Tuesday, but none from the area, according to state health officials. There have been 7,572 deaths in the state since reporting began due to coronavirus.

New Britain has had 184 virus-associated deaths among residents, while Bristol has had 124, Newington 101, Southington 87, Plainville 36, Berlin 29 and Plymouth 7 since reporting began.

There were 34,656 coronavirus cases reported over the weekend with 1,357 coming back as positive cases, a positivity rate of 3.92%. There was an increase in residents hospitalized with coronavirus, with 11 new for a total of 511. There are 130 patients in Hartford County hospitals.

New Britain had 29 new coronavirus cases over the past day for a total of 8,238.

Bristol had 38 new coronavirus cases for a total of 4,703.

Southington had 11 new coronavirus cases for a total of 2,917.

Newington had one new case for a total of 2,303.

Berlin had four more cases added to its total of 1,305.

Plainville added six new cases for a total of 1,280.

Plymouth had six new coronavirus cases for a total of 716.
