New Britain has 9 new positive coronavirus cases among residents; case updates for Berlin, Newington, Southington, Plainville

There were eight coronavirus-associated deaths reported statewide Friday but none from the area, according to state health officials. There have been 7,622 virus overall in the state since reporting began.

New Britain has had 186 virus-associated deaths among residents, while Bristol has had 127, Newington 101, Southington 89, Plainville 36, Berlin 29 and Plymouth 9 since reporting began.

There were 35,512 coronavirus cases reported Friday with 787 coming back as positive cases, a positivity rate of 2.22%. There was a decrease in residents hospitalized with coronavirus, dropping by 34 to 451. There are 109 coronavirus patients in Hartford County hospitals.

Over the past day, New Britain has had an increase of nine in positive coronavirus cases among residents for a total of 8,284.

Bristol had 15 additional residents that tested positive for the virus over the past day for a total of 4,741.

Southington had four more residents that tested positive for the virus for a total of 2,949.

Newington had five more positive cases among residents for a total of 2,328.

Berlin added three positive cases among residents for a total of 1,314.

Plainville had four more cases of the virus among residents for a total of 1,290.

Plymouth had a pair of new virus cases among residents for a total of 734.
