The state had seven new coronavirus-associated deaths and 21 new hospitalized reported Tuesday, according to state health officials. There have been 7,930 virus deaths in the state since reporting began, but none were added from the area on Tuesday. There are currently 505 residents hospitalized due to covid-19.
New Britain has had 201 virus-associated deaths among residents, while Bristol has had 132, Newington 100, Southington 93, Plainville 36, Berlin 29 and Plymouth 9 since reporting began.
There were 21,459 coronavirus tests reported Tuesday with 1,074 coming back as positive cases, a positivity rate of 5.0%. There are 113 residents in Hartford County hospitals, an increase of four.
As of Monday, the state has administered 1,329,149 first doses of the covid vaccines, including 57,061 of the Johnson & Johnson single-dose shot. There have been 809,663 state residents now fully vaccinated. The state has administered 2,081,751 vaccine doses in all.
For people 16 and over, 45% have received at least one dose of the vaccines. For those over the age of 45, 67% have received a vaccine shot; for those over the age of 55, 75% have received a vaccine shot; and for those over the age of 65, 82% have received a vaccine dose.
New Britain had 25 new coronavirus cases reported Tuesday and has had an overall total of 8,841.
Bristol added 33 new coronavirus cases over the past day and has had an overall total of 5,417.
Southington had 14 new virus cases since Monday and has had 3,366 cases overall.
Newington had an additional nine cases reported over the past day and has an overall total of 2,573.
Berlin added five new virus cases over the past day and has an overall total of 1,467.
Plainville had eight new virus cases reported since Monday and has an overall total of 1,448.
Plymouth added eight new coronavirus cases over the past day and has an overall total of 864.
