YORK, Penn. - Berlin native Anthony Marzi pitched a five-hit shutout for the New Britain Bees on Wednesday night, recording one walk and two strikeouts as the team won its second game over the York Revolution over the first three games of a four-game series.
The Bees picked up an early run with a rally in the first inning, as James Skelton singled with one out, Jovan Rosa doubled and Conor Bierfeldt came through with a two-out RBI single.
New Britain added an insurance run in the eighth inning, which turned out not to be needed.
Yusuke Kajimoto walked to start the frame and moved to second on an infield ground out before Craig Maddox hit a two-out RBI double.
The teams will complete their four-game set tonight, with the Bees trying to pick up a rare series victory on the road.
