LANCASTER, Pa. - Anthony Marzi did his part on the mound for the New Britain Bees Monday night, the team’s offense was a different story.

The Bees managed just four hits on the night off Lancaster Barnstormer starter Nate Reed and lost 3-1.

Reed tossed all nine innings for Lancaster. Aside from the one run and three hits, the left-hander struck out 12 New Britain hitters.

Marzi, meanwhile, provided the Bees with seven strong innings. The lefty gave up just two runs despite surrendering 10 hits.

In the end, the Berlin native received the loss.

Offensively, neither team was able to do much until the sixth inning when Sean Halton hit a solo home run for Lancaster. It was part of three runs over three innings for the Barnstormers as they scored a run in both the seventh and eighth innings to seal the game.

The Bees lone run came in the top of the ninth on a Jovan Rosa solo shot.
