Berlin golf's Lindsay ties for third place at State Open

OLD LYME – A trio of local golfers competed in Saturday’s State Open at Black Hall Club, and one found himself atop the leaderboard heading into the final three holes of play.

Berlin’s Jacob Lindsay was tied for the lead with a +5 after 15 holes and finished with a +6 for a final score of 77. The impressive showing earned Lindsay a tie for third place with Matthew Doyle of Daniel Hand.

Lindsay finished one shot back of Alexander Aurora of Hamden in second place, and two shots back of Darien’s Alexander Gu, who won the event with a 75.

Southington’s Maxwell Chubet shot an 84 to finish tied for 12th place with Sean Dowd of Granby Memorial. Chubet finished just one stroke short of tying for 10th place in the event.

Michael Dolce of St. Paul came in 24th place out of 25 golfers with a final score of 94, just one shot back of New Canaan’s Stirling Legge, who finished in 23rd place.
