NEWINGTON – Police have charged the husband of Patricia Torbicki, the Gilbert Road woman found with a gunshot to her head in her front door last month, with her murder.

Michael Torbicki is being held on $2 million bond. He will be arraigned in New Britain Superior Court Friday.

Michael Torbicki was found in his home with a gunshot wound to the head hours after neighbors summoned the police when they saw his wife’s bloody body in the front door of their home.

The discovery prompted a massive police presence in the quiet neighborhood off Willard Avenue.

Police released no details about the arrest warrant served on Michael Torbicki today. He had been in hospital recovering from a gunshot wound since he and his wife were found in their home.
