New Britain man dies after being struck by car

NEW BRITAIN – Police are looking for witnesses to a fatal pedestrian accident that occurred Saturday night.

A 56-year-old male New Britain resident was struck by a car in the area of Farmington Avenue between Sidoti Drive and Lurton Street at about 8:46 p.m., police said.

The male was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders, police said. The driver of the car that struck the man, a 24-year-old female New Britain resident, was not injured and is cooperating with the investigation. There have been no charges filed at this time, Capt. William Steck said.

Police are looking for anyone who may have information or who may have witnessed the accident to call Sgt. Steven King with the Traffic Division at 860-826-3071.
