NEW BRITAIN – The CCSU men’s basketball team won’t be able to get its last game in before the holiday break.

Tuesday’s game against Binghamton was canceled, the school announced on Tuesday morning. The Blue Devils were scheduled to visit the Bearcats for a 4 p.m. tip, in what would have been their final non-conference game of the season. A road game against Fordham this past Saturday was also canceled, meaning the team will have played three non-conference tilts this season, all losses against UConn, Army and Hartford.

The cancellation was not related to a covid case within the team, and CCSU is still practicing before the holidays. Binghamton’s next game, a Sunday afternoon matchup at UMBC, is still on as scheduled.

The Blue Devils’ last game came on Dec. 16, their best defensive performance of the season in a 78-59 victory over St. Francis Brooklyn at home. Their next game will be on the road on Jan. 7 against Bryant, leaving a three-week gap in between games.

CCSU won’t be back home until a Jan. 21 matchup with Mount St. Mary’s. The team’s record for the calendar year ends at 2-5 overall, and 2-2 in conference play.
