To The Editor:
Regarding your article of July 26th, “Highway toll study is funded,” it is appalling the State’s Bond Commission just spent 10 million dollars of taxpayer money merely to study bringing back tolls to Connecticut. Think about that number: TEN MILLION DOLLARS!
The average worker in Connecticut would have to labor for more than two hundred years to pay for that study! Did the six commissioners who voted to approve ever consider that state debt has to be paid back? Excessive, irresponsible government debt is a form of slavery.
