To the Editor:

On behalf of the Walnut Hill Park Rose Garden’s board members, I would like to thank the NBHS students who helped to prepare the garden for a new season on Saturday, April 27. The students, organized by Hilary Bristol, the Healthcare Academy Teacher at NBHS, worked tirelessly.

I would like to add that the Walnut Hill Park Rose Garden is maintained by volunteers and therefore we need help from the community. The proposed volunteer work schedule leading to the Rose Garden Festival on June 15, is as follows: Weds. May 29, 5 p.m. - 7 p.m., Sat. June 1, 9 a,m. - noon, Mon. June 3, 5 p.m. - 7 p.m., Wed. June 5, 5 p.m. - 7 p.m., Sat. June 8, 9 a.m. - noon, Mon. June 10, 5 p.m. - 7 p.m., Wed. June 12, 5 p.m. - 7 p.m.. Volunteer days are subject to weather conditions, such as rain, extreme temperatures and high humidity.
