To the Editor:

James Taylor sings a song titled “My Town” which brings to mind the town of New Britain.

Taylor sings these lyrics “...you watched it grow, it was your town. Time goes by, time brings changes,...” New Britain, My Town, has many places to be proud of, such as our public library, Museum of American Art, Art League, Trinity on Main, theaters, recreational parks and most of all, its diversity of cultures.

We all make our home in “Our Town,” New Britain. One particular improvement that I have had the pleasure to frequent is Chelsey Park. A park where walking a mile around a newly constructed track surrounding an impeccable “field of dreams” is a pleasure. As I travel throughout My Town, I am grateful to our mayor, Erin Stewart, and town employees who find local and state funding for park renovations, paving roads, new signage, affordable residential apartments on Court Street and Columbus Avenue are only a few initiatives noticed.

I love saying that I was born, raised and reside in My Town, New Britain.
