To the Editor:

I am proud to support Alden Russell for state representative in the 24th district.

As a fellow commissioner in New Britain, I saw firsthand how hard-working and caring Alden is. He cares about everyone and he works tirelessly to make our community a better place for us all. He is a great advocate for all, especially the less fortunate.

Alden would be a great advocate for New Britain at the State Capital if elected.

Even though I am a registered Democrat and active on the New Britain Democratic Town Committee, I believe it is important to cross the aisle from time to time and support candidates regardless of their party affiliation who put the people first before party politics.

As a state and as a nation, we have become so staunchly divided, and as a result, decisions are being made by our elected officials that are solely in the interests of partisan ideologue’s and decisions aren’t being made in the interest of the community as a whole. Therefore, in order to counteract this, we need to elect more people at the State Capital who will work solely for their constituents and not work only for the special interests.

Additionally, we need to elect people who aren’t lifelong professional politicians and we need to elect people who aren’t carpetbaggers either. Alden has no higher ambitions and is running for office only to make a positive difference for the people.

Alden genuinely cares about the people, and the Legislature needs more people like Alden. I know if elected, he will continue to help anyone who reaches out to him.

Alden is smart, hardworking, kind, compassionate, and a great community activate. Therefore, I urge all voters in the 24th District to vote for Alden Russell for state representative on November 3rd.
