To the Editor:

On behalf of the Walnut Hill Park Rose Garden board members, I would like to thank all the volunteers who helped to prepare the garden for winter on Saturday, Nov. 21.

The work started with weeding the area in early October and continued through the rest of that month and through most of November. I appreciate the promptness of New Britain Parks and Recreation’s employees in removal of the weeds and debris we generated on an almost daily basis.

My sincere thanks go to all those who helped with this difficult undertaking: Ally, Paul, Sophie, Marian, Krystyna Davis, Alice Kondracki, John Glowiak, John Rodriguez and Raymond Szajkowski. Instrumental in the Saturday’s clean up process was a Fantastic Four comprised of NBPD officers: Capt. Adam Rembisz, Darius Conaway, Jason Walker and Liam Kinahan.

I would also like to send special thanks to Gary and Maria for their gift of gloves, which made our work much easier and safer. Finally, I am thankful to all who came to help to make the garden more beautiful next year.

Thank you all!

Stasia Rodriguez
