To the Editor:
New Britain is so progressive with all of its redevelopment and grants, but when I happened to be driving through town I was so surprised to see the biodegradable bags filled with leaves.
Seems pretty arcadic to me. My town, Newington, is terrific in that you have the leaves to the curb and they will come at least three times to sweep up the leaves.
I have no idea the cost of this and it most likely is in our taxes but what a treat to have this done. How many leaves can you pack into the bags? Not much. New Britain could partner with Newington to have our town come sweep the leaves. I have no idea the legality of this but what a nice gesture to do for the residents of New Britain.
It is a win-win situation all around. Think about it. Do something nice for the residents of your city.
