PLAINVILLE - Rep. William A. Petit, Jr. (R-Plainville, Bristol) recently paid a visit to the Crowley Ford dealership located in Plainville to speak with employees and gain a better understanding of legislative issues currently affecting the automotive industry.  “I appreciated everyone at Crowley Ford who took time out of their busy morning to stop the work they were doing and come to meet with me,” said Petit. “It is important to me that I hear directly from them about issues or thoughts of concern, particularly, about issues that may have impacts on their employment, as was the discussion at Crowley Ford. I commend these skilled workers at Crowley Ford for the work they do to help make the dealership a great success, and for the positive impact that has on our community.”

During the visit, Petit was treated to a tour of the dealership showroom and facility by Jim Brooks, General Manager, and Gary Stebbins, Parts and Service Director.  Following the tour, Ken Crowley, President of Crowley Auto Group, hosted a ‘Meet Your Legislator’ gathering in the showroom, giving dealership staff the opportunity to meet with Petit and speak with him about issues of concern affecting their jobs and the state. While Petit gave a brief overview of the latest legislative updates, including the state budget crisis, discussion centered mainly on the opposition of local dealerships like Crowley Ford to Tesla's further expansion within Connecticut.   “I will continue to fight for my employees to maintain their jobs,” said Ken Crowley. “I appreciate that Rep. Petit is interested in hearing about the challenges and issues we face and that he took the time to come to the dealership and listen to those who wanted to speak with him. I felt it was important to host this meet and greet event, and give my employees an opportunity to voice their thoughts and opinions to their legislator.”

Petit expressed his support for the employees, and encouraged them to continue voicing their opinions.

“I truly rely on the business owners and residents of the 22nd district to keep in contact with me, and let me know their thoughts so that I can best represent their voice in Hartford,” he said.

Crowley Ford is part of the Crowley Auto Group, which has served the Greater Hartford area for over 40 years, boasting 12 franchises and 7 locations.
