BERLIN - A Berlin manufacturer was sold last week to Illinois-based MW Industries.

Tri-Star Industries was established in 1991 in Berlin and manufactures standard and custom-designed inserts in brass, steel, aluminum and stainless steel for plastic applications.

The company also produces screw machine products and computer numerical control components.

“The Tri-Star brand has an excellent reputation for quality, customer service, engineering expertise and on-time delivery,” said MW CEO John Bagnuolo. “By joining 20 brands that make up the MW Industries family of companies, Tri-Star will be able to offer customers a broader market basket of products, both now and in the future.”

Details of the deal were not disclosed. MW Industries, headquartered in Rosemont, Ill., is a manufacturer of industrial fasteners and precision components.

According to its website, Tri-Star supplies more than 500 companies serving industries including automotive, computer, communications, electronics, hand tools, housewares, medical, military and sporting goods.
