NEWINGTON - Good business means building a connection with customers, one local company understands.

That’s exactly what staff at Ferrari’s Appliance did recently at the store’s second annual Business Expo: Meet people and enjoy their community.

The 2-year-old appliance store saw over 200 visitors attend the event, which was designed to be a family-centered fair. In addition to the 54 business participants that set up booths, children’s entertainment, games, food and raffles were offered.

A little over $400, raised through vendors, was donated to the Connecticut Humane Society.

“It will be going toward supplies for the Newington shelter,” store manager Ray Rodriguez said.

“We take a big role in helping and supporting the Newington community,” he pointed out.

Ferrari’s recently won the Newington Chamber of Commerce’s award for Best Appliance Store.

Brand-name appliances include refrigerators, ovens, dishwashers, grills, air conditioners and a variety of other products for both the interior and exterior of the home.

The family-owned business offers customers frequent status updates for service and repairs, along with price matching and one-hour appointment windows.

Ferrari’s Appliance is at 460 New Britain Ave., Newington.
