BERLIN – From the Heart Home Care is celebrating five years of professional senior services.
The company has a team of caregivers that offer companion, personal care assistance, special care and live-in care to senior citizens depending on each client’s needs.
Slavek Bulavko, representative of client relations at From the Heart Home Care, said he focuses on matching the appropriate caregiver with a client by screening personality compatibility to better serve their needs and wants.
Slavek has worked for the company for 11 months but he also has previous experience as a caregiver.
“Finding the right match is important,” Slavek said. “I know exactly what caregivers need and the needs of clients so I try to satisfy clients and caregivers at the same time.”
From the Heart Home Care signs contracts with the State of Connecticut and the department of Veterans Affairs frequently. The business offers options such as the Adult Family Living program in which the state pays a family member to take care of a loved one at home. The earnings of those individuals are tax free stipends. They serve as sub contractors for the company.
Clients in need of special services due to illnesses such as cancer, dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, brain injury and stroke are handled by the company. In addition, the From the Heart Home Care provides 24 hour live-in care givers who assist clients with household tasks and activities of the daily living.
From the Heart Home Care has around 30 employees and it is headquartered at 300 New Britain Road.
Eva Puzio, who has been with the company since 2013, said that she takes pride in listening and providing solutions for caregivers and clients.
“Employees are very important, if there are no employees, the business would not exist,” Puzio said, adding that keeping employees happy and understanding they have a life outside of work is important.
This year, the team at From the Heart Home Care will be showing its support by attending the “Walk to End Alzheimer’s” on Oct. 14 at the Pratt and Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field.
The purpose of the event is to raise funds to help improve the lives of people who live with Alzheimer’s disease, their families and caregivers. The event starts with registration at 8:30 a.m.
